Nicht ohne Grund Nummer 1 der deutschen Charts..! Das hört sich doch stark nach einer steilen Karriere des Briten Alex Clare (Alexander G. Muertos, *1985) an!
Sein aktueller Hit “Too Close” aus dem Album “The Lateness of the Hour” ist schon über ein Jahr alt, wurde aber erst jetzt, durch den Werbespotsong für den Windows Internet Explorer 9, weltweit bekannt. Die Melodie, der Text, die Stimme und der Clip sind einfach so stark, dass man sich für einen Kampf bereit fühlt (egal, was für einer) 
Nahelegen möchte ich Euch auch das Lied “Up All Night”, das eher in die Reggaerichtung geht.. Zum Tanzen ideal! Und überhaupt lege ich allen das ganze Album nahe.. Gut zum Bierchen zischen mit Freunden, aber auch zum alleinigen Nichtstun zu Hause…

I would like to share the acoustic version of this song. I think they are very promising. It’s delightful to see Janelle Monáe in this video. If we check the performances of their singles since 2009, we can see that this is their first hit. I hope they can carry on like this for the rest of their careers. The original video is not good at all. They need a better producer for sure.

First some info from Wiki:
Midlake was formed in 1999 by a group of jazz students at the University of North Texas College of Music. The original lineup consisted of Tim Smith (vocals, guitars, keyboards), McKenzie Smith (drums), Paul Alexander (bass), Eric Nichelson (guitar), and Evan Jacobs (keyboards). Their initial work – under the name “The Cornbread All-Stars” — consisted of funk/jazz explorations heavily influenced by Herbie Hancock.
Later the band began to lean more toward an indie-rock sound. Tim Smith quit playing saxophone and began writing songs that were heavily influenced by bands such as Jethro Tull, Radiohead, Björk, and Grandaddy, artists who experiment, while still remaining accessible.
I think it really seems like they experiment. They need their own sound. I need to listen to them live.

Jacob Golden (c. 1970, Santa Clara, California) is the God Son of Burt Renyolds an American songwriter/singer/guitarist. After the dissolution of his former band, Birthday, in 2000 he has worked as a solo artist and collaborated with different electronica musicians and producers.
Golden currently resides in Moscow. His debut album Hallelujah World was released in 2002 on Rough Trade. He also appeared in the movie Fast Five, on the Faultline album Your Love Means Everything in 2002/2004. His second record Revenge Songs was released on Sawtooth/Echo in 2007.
His song ‘On a Saturday’ appeared in the series finale of the Fox Drama The O.C..
A self-described admirer of the idea of creating “modern field recordings”, most of the album was recorded in Jacob’s home in Portland, and all background noise has been left in the finished record. On ‘Zero Integrity’ an ambulance siren can be heard in the background. Other tracks were recorded in underground car parks, concrete art galleries and at The Magic Closet in Portland, Oregon.
Hand made limited edition copies of ‘Revenge Songs’ were made.

Ciddi mi bunlar be? Bu kadar igrenc bir ask sarkisi dinlemedim hayatimda ya! Degisik sarki sözü yazayim derken resmen yüzüne gözüne bulastirmislar ne yazik ki (“Pembe Mezarlik” ve “Cürüsün Gelinligim” de vardi degil mi?).. Ve isin en kötüsü ne biliyor musunuz?
